Position: Personal Chef & Culinary Kitchen Team Members

Overview of Olive Branch Chef Service

Founded in 2008 in New Hampshire, and expanded to California in 2018, Olive Branch chefs go to clients’ homes and cook multiple meals for them at a time, on a weekly basis. The chefs work directly with their clients and custom design weekly menus for them. On the cook days, the chef shops for groceries, goes to the client’s home and cooks, packages and labels everything with reheating directions, and properly stores the food.

Requirements & Qualifications for Position​

Experience:
  • 5+ years of professional cooking experience, personal/private chef experience preferred.
  • Experience cooking a wide range of cuisines and accommodating special dietary needs and allergies.
  • Culinary school graduate (a plus).

  • Clean background check with no criminal record
  • Verifiable, strong references
  • Able to work legally in the United States

    Chef’s Primary Responsibilities:

    1. Client Communication & Management: Communicate effectively with clients, manage their needs, and plan menus based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
    2. Menu Planning & Approval: Create customized menus for each client and obtain their approval before proceeding with grocery shopping.
    3. Menu Preparation: Type up a clear and concise menu for the client and leave it at their home before the cooking day.
    4. Grocery Shopping: Purchase all necessary groceries for the planned menu on the scheduled cooking day.
    5. Cooking & Packaging: Prepare meals according to the approved menu, ensuring proper packaging and labeling of each item.
    6. Food Storage: Store prepared food items correctly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
    7. Lifting: Be able to lift and carry items weighing between 25 to 50 pounds.
    8. Kitchen Cleaning: Thoroughly clean and sanitize the kitchen after cooking is complete.
    9. Reporting: Send photos of grocery receipts and a copy of the menu to the owner via email or text message on each cooking day.
